Kathmandu Narayanhiti Palace Museum Tour

3 Hours

Overview

The Narayanhiti Palace Museum is the former palace of the Nepal Royal Family until its abolition on 28th May, 2008 and was the scene of the 2001 Nepal Royal Massacre which Crown Prince Dipendra allegedly shot and killed the reigning King, Queen and six other royal family members before turning the gun on himself. The palace comprises 52 rooms of which 19 are open to the public and we take you through the public exhibits showcasing the chintzy décor which includes large chandeliers and lots of gold plating and even two full sized taxidermy Bengal tigers. The tour allows you to experience the lives of the Nepalese Royal family in the later years of the Shah dynasty.
