Overview
Spend a day exploring two of the Kathmandu Valley’s most beautiful UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites.
We start the trip with a visit to Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and the holiest Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. Join the crowd of Buddhist pilgrims as they circumambulate the stupa in a clockwise direction three times for good luck.
Stop at one of the Gompas (Tibetan Monasteries) that surround the stupa and spin one of the massive prayer wheels.
We then drive out into the Kathmandu Valley to visit Bhaktapur, home to cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites that hark back to Nepal’s rich past.
Experience what it’s like to wade slowly back in time, with streets and architecture retaining their olden, brick made charm. All throughout, pay close attention to their shared religious heritage of Buddhist and Hindu backgrounds.
Bhaktapur is filled with temples, shrines, idols and sculptures in honor of their gods – giving you an endless count of sights over which to marvel.
